- <p> Birds do it. Bees do it. Even feminists and shrinks do it.
- CATHARINE MACKINNON, pioneering opponent of sexual harassment,
- has quietly become engaged to iconoclastic author and former
- psychoanalyst JEFFREY MOUSSAIEFF MASSON. The couple first met
- after a star-struck Masson read MacKinnon's Sexual Harassment of
- Working Women and sought her out. MacKinnon, it turned out, had
- read Masson's feminist-friendly critique of Freud, The Assault
- on Truth. "I was very excited by the book, as were many
- feminists," she says. Masson gives the romance a Freudian spin:
- "It was the fulfillment of an unconscious wish."
