  17. <p>    Birds do it. Bees do it. Even feminists and shrinks do it.
  18. CATHARINE MACKINNON, pioneering opponent of sexual harassment,
  19. has quietly become engaged to iconoclastic author and former
  20. psychoanalyst JEFFREY MOUSSAIEFF MASSON. The couple first met
  21. after a star-struck Masson read MacKinnon's Sexual Harassment of
  22. Working Women and sought her out. MacKinnon, it turned out, had
  23. read Masson's feminist-friendly critique of Freud, The Assault
  24. on Truth. "I was very excited by the book, as were many
  25. feminists," she says. Masson gives the romance a Freudian spin:
  26. "It was the fulfillment of an unconscious wish."
